Earn Affiliate Commissions With Free Video Sharing Websites
By Angela Wills
Thinking about using free video sharing websites to earn affiliate commissions? Smart move.
The following article will detail some of my personal experiences with this and how you can use video marketing to present affiliate products and make sales.
If you are using video sites here are some suggestions:
Get a domain name for your affiliate promotion
When you post a video to any free video sharing site, such as YouTube, you can put a domain name in the description that will be clickable if you put the prefix http:// in front of it. If you get yourself a domain name instead of using the ugly, long, affiliate URL then you are more likely to get clicks. Also, some sites may not allow you to use affiliate links but it's usually completely acceptable to use a domain name.
Do a video review
One of the best ways to sell any type of product is show people how to use it. Show them the advantages, the drawbacks, the little tricks and secrets you've figured out that not everyone knows. Even if you don't have any huge secrets just showing people around and proving you've actually bought and know the product is a great way to entice potential new customers.
Build Your email list
While it's great to get affiliate promotions, if you start building your own email list you will be able to market to the people who viewed your video over and over again instead of just one time. In order to build your email list you want to offer useful information on the video sharing sites, information that potential customers might be looking for. A good example might be if you are an affiliate of a coffee website you might do a video showing different types of coffee grinds and how to choose the best one for you. Then, once the video is complete invite them back to your website for more interesting coffee info and tips (download a special report or whatever else would be enticing to a coffee lover).
Do your keyword research
Free video websites are ranking very well in the search engines these days so it's important that you take advantage of this. In order to get the most exposure for all the videos you submit then you'll want to do thorough keyword research. I use Wordtracker's free keyword tool and Google AdWords Keyword Discovery tool to find hundreds of keywords on any topic or product I'm looking to promote. Once you find your idea keywords then craft a video that responds to them and answers the questions that actually people are typing into the search engines.
So there you have some ideas on how to earn affiliate commissions with free video sharing sites.
